No Sew Grogu - Supplies needed

Once you have all the craft supplies on hand, you can move on to the first step.

Heads up: if your kiddo likes to sew, you can replace the felt glue for this project with needle and thread. We’ve used both to create Grogu plushies and either approach can produce an adorable little friend!

Step 1. – Prepare Felt Pieces

To begin, print a copy of the Grogu template and cut out the individual elements from the template. Then, take the pieces and carefully trace them onto the felt sheets using a Sharpie or pen. In particular, you’ll need to trace the following elements onto the felt sheets:

  • 2 cutouts of Grogu’s body on olive or light green felt
  • 2 small cutouts on peach or pink felt for his ears
  • 1 light brown or cream collar for his robe
  • 1 darker brown or beige cutout for the robe.
  • Small black circles for eyes (if you prefer felt eyes instead of buttons)

No Sew Grogu - Step 1, prepare felt layers. When you finish tracing all the elements onto the felt, cut them out and set them aside for Step 2.

Step 2. – Glue the Felt Pieces

To begin “building” your Grogu plushie, add the robe cutout to one of the body cutouts using the felt glue. Next, add felt glue to the back of the collar piece, flip it over, and press it onto the top of the robe. Continue with the gluing process until you’ve added all the elements to the front body piece
No Sew Grogu - Step 2, add felt layers one at a time. After completing the front, grab the second “full body” piece and add a line of felt glue around the perimeter of the cutout. Then, press the backing into place. It’s important to leave about 1/4 of this backing unglued for the next step.

Set the assembled Grogu aside to dry based on the usage instructions for your brand of felt glue. (Note: the glue we used recommended an hour for drying time.)

Step 3. – Add Stuffing

When Grogu’s front side is completely dry, grab the Poly-fil stuffing and gently stuff it inside the front and back pieces. Keep in mind that using more stuffing on this step creates a firmer plushie, whereas using less stuffing creates an, ahem, plusher plushie.
No Sew Grogu - Step 3, add stuffing.

Step 4. – Seal and Enjoy!

When your Grogu plushie is stuffed, carefully add a line of felt glue inside the layers to close up the final opening. If you have them on hand, you can use straight pins or clips to keep the opening closed and help the glue bond the felt together.
No Sew Grogu - Step 4, add felt glue. When the glue dries, remove the pins or clips. Your no-sew Grogu plushie craft is ready to enjoy or share with a friend!

As always, we would LOVE to see your completed project. Be sure to share it in the Masterpiece Society Facebook Group or tag us on Instagram so we can swoon over your sweet little Grogu.
