Inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett’s beloved novel, each day invites you to explore the story’s magic through poetry, tea, nature, and art. Today, we’re exploring the magic of forgotten gardens with a selection of garden-theme poetry. First, we read “The Deserted Garden” by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, a bittersweet poem that captures the wistful beauty of an abandoned, once-cherished garden. Then we’ll find comfort and delight in “The Old-Fashioned Garden” by John Russell Hayes—a charming celebration of simple flowers and the peaceful joy of a lovingly tended garden. 🌷💚 Let’s open the gate together and rediscover the magic that grows in secret places. 🌱✨

Inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett’s beloved classic, each day brings a new way to explore the story’s themes through poetry, tea, nature, and art. ✨ Day 1: The Magic of Forgotten & Secret Gardens — Reflect on lost and hidden beauty with The Deserted Garden by Elizabeth Barrett Browning and the joys of The Old-Fashioned Garden, by John Russell Hayes. 🫖 Day 2: Crumpets & Crows: Tea Time in the Secret Garden — Sip on a cuppa and learn to make your own crumpets for a truly English treat. 🌿 Day 3: Wild & Wuthering: A Nature Study of the Yorkshire Moors — Discover the wild beauty of the Yorkshire Moors. Journal heather, gorse, the rowan tree, and spot a mistle thrush in your nature notebook. 🎨 Day 4: Create Beautiful Plant Markers for Your Own Secret Garden — Paint garden plant markers on stones to bring a bit of secret garden whimsy to your own backyard. 🖌 Day 5: Art from the Secret Garden — Create your own charming and unique art piece using your favorite quote from The Secret Garden. Plus, enjoy a curated Secret Garden Reading List to enrich your journey. Let the garden gate swing open — adventure awaits!
