Birdsong makes me happy! Over the years we’ve enjo Birdsong makes me happy! Over the years we’ve enjoyed the chirps, tweets and trills of a pet birds: a canary, finches and parakeets – not to mention the hundreds of birds that live all around our home! 

But out of all the birds we’ve had, the parakeets were the most curious (and a bit cantankerous!) So as a tribute to them, we created this art lesson in acrylics- find it in our Playful Pet Portraits course to create this adorable piece! 🐤

This Trail of Tears mixed media project provides an opportunity to reflect and discuss the forced displacement of Native Americans in the southeast to current-day Oklahoma from the 1830s-1850s. Moai are large, human statues discovered on Easter Moai are large, human statues discovered on Easter Island, a Chilean island located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. These mysterious figures were carved by the Rapa Nui people from solidified volcanic ash between 1250 and 1500 AD, and represented the living faces of deified ancestors. Over 900 statues were found on the island, the tallest of which was 33 feet tall and weighed 81 tons!
