Looking for a fun way to celebrate your budding artist? Turn your home into an Art Gallery for a day and create an Art Exhibition displaying the paintings of your kids. What a fun and creative idea!

I absolutely LOVE seeing pictures of our Masterpiece Society  students and their beautiful works of art. And I love seeing pictures of all the “gallery walls” moms have created in their homes displaying their children’s (and their) artwork.

But this brought tears of joy (okay… I admit, I ugly-cried) when I saw what one mom did for her 11-year old daughter…

Mom, April, made the brilliant decision to turn her home into an Art Gallery for a day and create an Art Exhibition displaying the paintings of her daughter, Alessandra.

April says,

“We have really enjoyed our year with you and recommend it to everyone that might be interested in learning to paint. I enrolled Alessandra in the program so she could learn, and I ended up learning so much myself. If it wasn’t for her and your awesome program, I would never have picked up a paint brush for the first time in my life and learned so much about the famous artists (and I’m in my 40s!) … “

“Alessandra is celebrating her year of art with the Masterpiece Society Studio with an art exhibition. I’ve attached an invitation for you (less some personal details). I’d like to post that invitation to Instagram just to share with your Masterpiece Society community what we’re doing. You deserve all the credit.”

“We’re turning our living room into an art gallery and inviting friends and family. Alessandra and I just hung all the art and label cards on the wall this weekend in preparation. It is so beautiful to see it all on display (I counted 59 pieces) and admire how hard she worked this year.

April created art label cards to display beneath each painting, with the artist, Alessandra’s name, the name of the master artist whose piece she studied and recreated, the title of the artwork, as well as the art medium and substrate it was created on.

So, so beautiful!!!

April says,

“It was so much fun and Alessandra really enjoyed it. Of all the art on display, the most popular one was of Cezanne’s Pyramid of Skulls. We probably could have had a bidding war on it. This was such a wonderful project over the last year. Thank you so much for your amazing program.”

These moments and precious memories are what I hope for with all of our Masterpiece Society  families. I truly believe the love and thoughtfulness that April put into this exhibition for her daughter will be a memory that lasts a lifetime.

And who knows? One day Alessandra may hold another art exhibition with hundreds of her art pieces. I definitely expect an invitation to that one! 😉

Special thanks to April Scott for allowing me to share your words and images. And thank you for the inspiration you are to homeschooling moms who want to encourage and evoke the gifts within each of their children.
